Since the massive fight between Google and China that has been talked about worldwide, Chinese SEO has taken a giant hit to the face. But surprisingly, China has decided not to interfere with Google’s Android mobile platform, as long as it complies with Chinese laws and co-operates with mobile operators like all the rest of the phone companies have to, which is very reasonable of them.
But on Google’s side, nobody has actually been sure if they would continue business in China at all since they stopped censoring their search engine in China, but it looks like they will continue at last. Zhu Hongren, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology spokesman has confirmed that the android software platform will be safe in China. But nobody is talking about the Google search engine site, so we may as well take it as Google is not putting it back into China, they are still pulled out, but Chinese government has said if they abide to Chinese law they will not block any of Google’s business ventures in their country.
Even if Google do not put the search engine back onto Chinese internet, all is not lost, as they still have a lot to offer without it now, they have the new applications Google voice and Google wave, they have gmail, Google reader, Google Chrome, Maps, Earth, the list just goes on and on. Android stand to make a lot of money too as many leading phone manufacturers have made and plan to make android phones.
It has been one of the least transparent conflicts ever, at the best of times, even the U.S. government has been involved when Google claimed China was involved with the cyber-hacking attacks which kicked this whole thing off. But Chinese government has denied any involvement with those attacks and has requested that either way it should be viewed as a business dispute and should not be damaging relations between them and the US. Now that’s not an incriminating thing to say in the slightest, is it? Hopefully it will all be smoothed over in the relatively near future and Google won't have to keep their search engine out of China.
