twitter bird standing on a button icon As more and more companies start to use twitter to increase publicity, customers and sales, a tax accountant firm (accountants, on twitter? I wouldn’t have thought they would use social media) called TurboTax has decided to set up a page to give people fast tax, tech and product advice for free when they post a tweet on their page.

They said they thought of the page as a response to the fact that their customers are rapidly joining the twitter bandwagon, with a large number already being a part of the growing twitter ‘flock’.

This comes as good news to anyone who needs to do company or personal taxes, as there are four UK tax consultant and accountant pages, but only two of those seem to be active, with one being a follower of another live UK tax page. One of those live pages is a useful portal site, but none of these sites say that they offer free advice on your tax questions, not yet anyway.

So far, the UK doesn’t yet have a company that offers technical and product support alongside tax services and advice operating a service available within the space of an hour or two, through twitter, but things catch on quickly on twitter. We should have a UK based company as such in the near future; as long as somebody notices it, (it might even be a niche in the market that you are interested in).

Whoever picks it up first, with the right SEO, page optimisation, social media knowledge and content (see blog categories: SEO, web design and social media marketing, also check out our link building article) could stand to make a large sum of money.

The TurboTax firm have made a fair bit of new interest with this free support service, so an idea for everybody who owns a company page on twitter is to include a free Q&A support service on there, it will attract new custom and increase your profits. Plus twitter is free to use, so you don’t need to pay a penny for this great advertising tool. What are you waiting for? Go set one up now!
