You don’t want just any web traffic by the ton. The stuff to look out for is always, relevant targeted web traffic, as that traffic has the highest potential customer to overall visitor rate. If they are your target audience coming in as traffic in high numbers, then you stand to make a lot of money, as more of these people will buy from you. Here is our simple guide to increasing targeted traffic…
Right, next we need to think about is article writing. To push up your page ranking, you need to do two things, aim your articles at your target audience and also aim your articles at your keywords. This is very important, you need to write articles or blogs, and they need to be focused at the many interests of your target audience. Try to include backlinks to your site if you publish them elsewhere, or to other articles on your site if you don’t, but most importantly use your keywords for the link anchor text. Also, your site needs to have a simple but fast way to navigate these i.e.: a search bar, navigation buttons ordered by category, etc…
Links, links, links; you have to get as many backlinks to your site as possible. And you need as many of them as possible to be having a high page rank (PR). When you get backlinks from high PR sites, they are worth so much more (see our article on link building, in the S.E.O. category).
There are few actual article posting sites with high PR, but you will find them, search for free article submission, or something along those lines, and do a few searches with different related keywords and keyword strings, and take note of any of the ones that consistently come up on the first page. Also, there are high PR social networking sites you can post links to articles on, with short descriptions, there are blogging and micro-blogging sites that have high to relatively high PR that enables you to post your articles as blogs or snippets of your articles and a link to the full article. You can also do blog comments with links, but use a well-written thought over comment, and make sure it's a relevant blog otherwise it's pointless.
Lastly, SEO. You must have good SEO, you can achieve this in many ways (see our SEO and Web Design categories for ideas, there is some really useful stuff in there so don’t miss out on it), but for now I'm just going to go over site optimisation as SEO needs more than a whole article, it's a big, important subject. What you want is good relevant content, as in articles and posts; you need lots of relevant information and lots of information about you as a company and your site. Your linking efforts also contribute greatly to this. Then your site will have a higher or a high PR and you will then get much more targeted traffic.
Just one more thing that could help; build a list that people can get on to if they like what you have, what you do, or your site. This is the most targeted thing that you could do and will be a great tool for turning potential customers and interested people into real customers, who have done business with you and will hopefully continue to do so. And as an added boost, the more people you have on your list, the more people will think you and your company is trustworthy and good at what you do, so it will create more interest and encourage even more people to join in. So have fun drawing in your target audience and turning it into targeted traffic. I hope that this article has helped you and your business, if you have any questions feel free to leave them as comments.
